‘-How did he propose?

Keith took me to dinner downtown (nothing out of the ordinary), and then suggested we walk across Walnut Street Bridge because it was a beautiful evening. He had a photographer hiding on the bridge and had her stage a bouquet of roses in the middle of the bridge…one rose for every week we had dated. When we approached the bouquet, he said, “I wonder why that’s there?” When I looked down, my name was written on the card. He then explained the number of roses and gave me all the reasons why he loved me before getting down on one knee and proposing.

-Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:

We chose Howe Farms in Georgetown, TN as our venue. They have multiple sites, and we chose the Apple Barn. It has a beautiful gazebo on the walkway and a gorgeous arbor and large pond for the ceremony site. The “barn” is only four years old, has polished concrete floors, and crystal chandeliers. We did not want a “barn” wedding, but this venue took our breath away and in no way felt like the typical. The staff was amazing to work with and very detail oriented.

-What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?

Our favorite part was making the reception our own. We decided on a dessert reception because we love our dessert binges. We did add in breads, cheeses, and some meats, but we had a gelato bar with toppings galore, a signature latte, espresso for the gelato to make affogatos, a chocolate fountain with various fruits, along with an amazing four layer cake of dark chocolate fudge, white chocolate vanilla, and raspberry buttercream. Our least favorite part was deciding on the guest list. We had agreed on a set number of guests to invite (due to renting china and the size of the venue), so having to omit certain acquaintances was difficult.

-Any advice for other brides planning their big day?

If you are having hair and makeup done by someone, do a trial run. That way you know what you are getting on the wedding day!

-What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

Keith did not want to see me on our wedding day until I walked down the aisle, so seeing his reaction in that moment was priceless!
