How did he propose?

For our first date, we saw “Big Fish” the musical. So, 3 years later (to the day) he brought me to where they filmed a part of Big Fish (the movie) close to Montgomery, AL and popped the question! It was amazing.

Tell us about your venue and why you chose it

Because of quarantine and the pandemic, we had to move our wedding to my parent’s backyard, but it couldn’t have been more perfect if we had planned it. We were able to get married underneath a tree with our family and friends surrounding us!

What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?

Having to plan around a pandemic was the absolute worst thing ever! Everything else was great! My mom, my aunt, and I planned everything together from the flowers, decorations, seating arrangements, food, everything. Then the week of the wedding I did all the flower arrangements, bouquets, boutonnières, and centerpieces myself. Everything turned out more beautiful than I could ever have planned.

Any advice for other brides planning their big day?

Don’t stress over the little things! At the end of the day, you’re going to be married to the person you love and that’s all that matters! Also, take the time to write vows to your partner! Even if you don’t do them during your ceremony… it is special just having them.

What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

We chose to write our own vows, so being able to look back and watch, and reread our vows is a special thing we will always have!

We also chose as the part of the unity moment to take the time to go to the different sides of our family and have them pray over us and our future! It was so special.
