How did he propose?
Jeremy proposed outside on the lawn of Belmont’s campus in Nashville. Our families were hiding behind the bushes, and a friend was playing the viola in the background!
Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:
2020 man! We were planning to get married at the McCallie Chapel, since McCallie was/is a huge part of Jeremy/The Bradford’s life. Because of COVID, we ended up at Northside Presbyterian Church – where my family goes. The reception was at The Turnbull Building, which we actually agreed to sight un-seen. We were looking for something with character and we thought the mix of old/new wood/metal was a perfect backdrop for the vibe we were looking for!
What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?
The least favorite part was COVID – while there were many silver linings … I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. I knew several other friends also planning weddings this year – we had a little support group and eventually we’ve all managed to pull off a wedding with tweaks and changes in plans – but that ended up being perfect in their own way! I also hated the vendor selection process. Everyone was so great, and it’s so hard to choose! My favorite part was planning the layout of the reception and picking table linens! I loved getting on the diagraming tool and playing around to see what would fit / what wouldn’t fit – but was grateful I had a wedding planner to keep me in check! I also love fabrics so getting in all the linen samples was so exciting for me!
Any advice for other brides planning their big day?
Even though it all seems important, figure out what (you think) matters to you the most, and make sure it’s squared away early on. YOU CANNOT control it all. And btw … EVERYTHING costs money.
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Dang – so hard to pick one! The memories that stand out most are saying our vows, dancing with my dad, and FINALLY getting to see so many of our friends/family who’d been in quarantine for so much of 2020.
