How did he propose?
Well, he said it didn’t go according to what he planned, but I thought it was absolutely perfect! He had planned to take me to the spots he had taken me on our first date. But everything he had planned on going to was closed…. so literally in the most thoughtful planned but not planned way, the day he proposed everything was closed AGAIN! (If you’re wondering yes, he did check that everything would be open and yes, the websites were wrong haha). So, we ended up going to have a nice dinner then ended up in my parents’ yard where we danced to our song and kissed to for first time. He started asking all these questions while we were dancing like “Do you know how much I love you?” “Have you had a good day?”, and several others. Then he asked, “Do you know what I’m going to ask next?”, so with the most confidence I said, “Do you want tacos?”. Then BOOM! He dropped to one knee and said, “Will you marry me?”. Which was the point where I dropped to the ground and blacked out from excitement. He jokes that he still doesn’t think I ever gave him an answer, but I promise you that reaction was a YES if there ever was one.
Tell us about your venue and why you chose it.
We chose the vineyard at Howe farms at first for May of 2021. This would have put us at a year and a half of waiting to get married. But with COVID and other factors in our lives we decided to move it up to August 1st, 2020 to the new venue of Howe farms at The Loft at Five Gables. It was beautiful and the staff was amazing and walked through everything with us! (shout out Kristina B.)!!
What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process? Favorite was getting to pick out the flowers and the style/color I wanted!! Least favorite was really nothing. I thought it all came together very well.
Any advice for other brides planning their big day?
When it comes to your big day make sure you have an emergency kit with a steamer, safety pins, tape, tools, and literally anything that you probably wouldn’t think you would need. But trust me eventually during the weekend of your wedding you’ll need something you thought was random. So, don’t be afraid to have a Mary Poppins Bag at the ready ladies!!
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Seeing the man of my dreams waiting for me to get to him to start our lives together. Also, that we forgot to get stuff to do our communion with and had to use a plastic cup of Dr. Pepper and a tortilla chip…the pastor looked at us and saying “tis the lords chips” ….. that was for sure a highlight lol!
