How did he propose?
It was completely a surprise and I cried, like U G L Y cried because it was such a sweet and special moment. Jonathon had planned the perfect evening for dinner, which just so happened to be the anniversary of my dad’s passing. My dad passed away on July 26th, 2017. Jonathon told me that he wanted to go to dinner to get my mind off of everything, but little did I know, he had already been talking and planning with my mom about how he was going to propose that evening on July 26th, 2019. We went to dinner at White Bird at The Edwin Hotel. It was the best dinner and yummy wine! Jonathon and I walked over to the Bluff View Arts District, and as we walked onto the overlook, to look at the water, Jonathon got down on one knee and absolutely surprised me when he proposed! It was a bittersweet moment! I wouldn’t have changed anything about that special proposal. He made such a sad and hard day now have a new and special moment that I will always remember.
Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:
Stratton Hall and we fell in love with it! It was such a sweet and gorgeous place to have our entire wedding guests there for the entire day.
What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?
Jonathon and I had pretty much had our date, venue, and food planned within two weeks after getting engaged, and then we handed everything over to our wedding planner. We absolutely loved planning our wedding, and then COVID-19 happened. The planning and the reducing of our wedding list had quickly gone from 250+ wedding guests to right at 90 wedding guests -which was only our close family members and wedding party. Even during all the changes that were happening, we loved every moment of our wedding. We also had it live-streamed!
What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
I absolutely LOVED having my first look with Jonathon before walking down the aisle. It was such a special moment and I loved that. I also loved having my close friends and family there to celebrate our wedding with. It was such a sweet moment that entire day, and I wouldn’t have changed it for anything. My other favorite part of our wedding was being able to have a song played in memory of my dad right before my mom walked me down the aisle. B U T my a b s o l u t e favorite part was marrying Jonathon! Also- I ABSOLUTELY L O V E D my wedding dress. It was A L L the T H I N G S.
