‘-How did he propose?

Madison and I began discussing marriage in October 2018, but I was completely surprised when he proposed on November 9th, 2018 on a Friday after school in his mom’s classroom. Of course I was so happy and the one thing I remember Madison saying during the proposal was that he promised to show how much he loved me in action and in truth, not just words and deeds. (1 John 3:18) I’ll never forget that. Madison is the most patient and kind person I know and I’m so proud to call him my husband.

-Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:

Since we are both teachers, we decided to get married the following summer. I had dreamed of having a summer wedding since I was a little girl and we both wanted a church wedding, but also wanted to have dancing at our reception. We decided to have our wedding ceremony at our church, Chestnut Grove Baptist in Henagar, AL and our reception at Sweet Seasons Farm in Valley Head, AL. Our wedding would not have been possible without the love and support from our families, especially our parents. During the eight months Madison and I were engaged, a lot of people asked me who our wedding planner was. I proudly said, “my mom.” Our wedding would not have been possible without her. All the small details came together because of the countless hours she spent planning. I’m so grateful for all the time she sacrificed to make something that I’ve dreamed about since I was a little girl come true.

-What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?

My favorite part about the wedding planning process was spending time planning with my husband. I was so happy that my husband gave his input and was so patient with me throughout the planning process. My least favorite part about the wedding planning process was making sure all the small details came together like I wanted them to.
-Any advice for other brides planning their big day?
Advice I would give to brides is to try not to stress about the small details. Everything will come together the way it is supposed to. There was an 80% chance of rain on our wedding day and it only rained a small part of the day. Try to enjoy the day as much as you can because it flies by and you will only remember a few small details.
-What was your favorite part about your wedding day?
My favorite part about my wedding day was getting ready with my mom, praying with my husband during our ceremony, and dancing with my husband and dad at the reception.
