‘-How did he propose?
Kevin proposed on our second day while on a family Alaskan Cruise in Juneau. We had a very quick stop to view a beautiful glacier before whale watching and I was so focused on getting through the hike and not missing the bus, I did not notice everyone strategizing to distract me while Kevin got the ring ready. Even though we were in a group, it was such a special one on one moment for us and the photo backdrop was not half bad either! I am so excited to take our children back to that place one day as the start of it all!
-Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:
Due to COVID-19, we had to make a last-minute change of venue, but we were so happy with our intimate ceremony at Gallery 1401. We are not the traditional couple and the beautiful art in the background with the urban/warehouse elements of the building was a perfect mix for our personalities!
-What was your favorite and least favorite part of the wedding planning process?
I am a venue manager and wedding coordinator, so the planning was smooth sailing despite a global pandemic in the end! I think my least favorite part was all the concern of budgeting!
-Any advice for other brides planning their big day?
Don’t sweat it. It’s SO much easier said than done, but coming from someone that had to change their location two weeks before and move their wedding up a day 24 hours before, in the end, it is all about you and your partner! Once you get through that ceremony, nothing else matters! You married your best friend!
-What was your favorite part about your wedding day?
Despite all the changes and cancellations, I was thankful it ended up the way it did. We had such an intimate experience because it was just us, our parents and siblings. It really allowed us to focus on the important part and not get clouded by a hectic guest count or timeline. We can’t wait to have a big party next April!
