-How did he propose?
He proposed in Jacksonville, North Carolina after my father’s induction ceremony into the United States Marine Corps Boxing Hall of Fame. He had candles lit and R&B music playing in the background!
-Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:
Our venue was at the Magnolia House on Weiss Lake in Cedar Bluff, AL. We chose this venue because it’s a beautiful plantation style home that sits right on the lake! It was plenty of space for our guests and the owners were so helpful! They went above and beyond to make our day special and beautiful. I would recommend this venue to any upcoming brides!
What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?
I think my favorite part about it was trying on different gowns and finding my dream gown! My least favorite part was probably addressing all the “save the dates,” bridal shower invitations, and the formal wedding invitations.
-Any advice for other brides planning their big day?
My advice to any upcoming brides is to try to get one wedding task done a day. Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to get a bunch done at once…you’ll only stress yourself out! Also, remember that when you are feeling stressed that everything is going to fall into place. Always remember the reason why you’re planning this wedding, because you are marrying the love of your life.
-What was your favorite part of your wedding day?
Standing in front of God and our family and friends as we professed our love and became one.
