‘-How did he propose?

At the top of the Sky Wheel in Pigeon Forge, TN overlooking the city covered in Christmas lights!

– Tell us about your venue and why you chose it:

We got married at our church, St. Thérèse of Lisieux, in Cleveland, TN. Our parish is like family, and the church itself is beautiful…all we did was add some candles to the windowsills! Our reception was at The Old Woolen Mill, also in Cleveland. The industrial look of the building combined with elegant decor in dark, moody colors created the most perfect atmosphere for late October.

-What was your favorite and least favorite part about the wedding planning process?

My favorite part of wedding planning was fine-tuning the visual details of colors, decor, attire, hairstyles, and of course the most perfect dress. Here’s where Monica’s comes in…I brought in a Pinterest picture. (I know, I’m THAT person..)  I never dreamed I would find anything like it, so I was just hoping for something similar. Not only were they able to bring it to life, but improve on little things to make it even better than the picture. They customized little things to make it more “me”, and NAILING this out of the box, larger than life, BLACK layered skirt that I fell in love with! My least favorite part had to be choosing music. It’s not something that I had thought much about until I sat staring at the fill-in-the-blank forms without a clue. Thankfully, our church’s pianist and our DJ for the reception were both incredibly helpful in recommendations, and I was so happy with what they came up with!

-Any advice for other brides planning their big day?

I’m sure everyone says this, but don’t sweat the small stuff. If something gets stressful, ask yourself, “Will this matter next week?” If the answer is no, just move on to the next thing. I’m super laid back, so if you’re like me, this may be better advice for your mom who is worrying twice as much to cover for both of you! (Thankful for my mom who definitely did way more planning than I did lol!)

– What was your favorite part of your wedding day?

My favorite part of my wedding day was getting to see all of our friends and family from near and far. We don’t get to see everyone super often, and it was especially nice to have everyone together dancing and having a great time!
